Part of the municipality of Marbella includes the bustling town of San Pedro de Alcántara which retains much of its authentic Spanish ambience. Located just 10 kilometres west of Marbella, and 2 kilometres west of Puerto Banús, the town is located at the beginning of the beautiful Ronda road, and has the stunning backdrop of the Sierra de Ronda mountains, bordering the municipality of Benahavis and reaching down to the shores of the Mediterranean.

The town of San Pedro has become increasingly popular in the last few years with both holidaymakers and foreign residents as a place to buy property. The area is divided by the main coastal road; on the inland side is the Old Town with its narrow, cobbled streets, pretty squares and churches and tiny local stores, while on the beachside are the new urbanizations, long stretches of beach, and a charming beachside promenade that is home to some excellent beach bars and restaurants including Kala Kalua – and Nuevo Reino, Bora Bora and Macaao Beach.

Offering a variety of settings, beachside, village, suburbs, golf, with an equally attractive array of properties, property prices are generally lower than Marbella, while offering many similar attractions in a more tranquil environment. Apartments and small houses in the town centre will give you a taste of authentic Andalusian village life, while the surrounding suburbs offer a variety of traditional and newly built developments and villas.
